Community care during pandemic times...and beyond

With the crisis caused by COVID-19, the care of dependent people and vulnerable populations comes dramatically into view. The pandemic context requires a major dedication of the families (especially women) in isolation, and extraordinary community efforts in slums and low-income areas. In all cases, the burden lies on women’ shoulders, although it will be necessary to study further whether the quarantine conditions have somehow impacted the gender distribution.
